To gather all the doctrines of the earth,
From Daoism to every sacred birth,
I take upon myself the varied creeds,
Becoming every truth the searching reads.
When questioned on the faith that I possess,
"Yours," is the single answer I confess.
Yet shared belief is not the final goal,
But proximity to the Absolute, the whole.
If God is seated deep within the mind,
All formal boundaries must be left behind.
I walk away from every crafted rite,
Since all direct toward a single light.
Four watchers view a canvas in a room,
And four divergent narratives will bloom.
Recorded in their different points of time,
The separate descriptions rarely rhyme.
No concept is original or new,
Despite the shifting lenses we look through.
For knowledge merely gathers as it grows,
To speak of what the human mind already knows.
